Important instructions to all students

Eligibility
- This Mid-Semester Examination is strictly for duly registered 300-Level students offering STA 304 in the Department(s) of Statistics.
- Only students whose details have been registered on the University's Mid-Semester Examination portal are eligible to participate.
- Unauthorized persons will not be granted access to the test under any circumstance.

Access to the virtual examination hall
- Your Matriculation Number is your unique entrance credential into the virtual hall.
- Enter your matriculation number exactly as officially registered with the University.
- Incorrect entry may prevent access to the Mid-Semester Examination.
- Each matriculation number is uniquely linked to one candidate and can only be used by the registered student.
- This CAT system is programmed to prevent unauthorized access; no person outside the approved class list can gain entry.

Structure of the examination
- Total number of questions: 60 - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Marks per question: 0.5 Mark · Total obtainable marks: 30 Marks.
- Every question carries equal weight. Candidates are advised to attempt all questions.

Examination duration
- The examination duration is 30 minutes only.
- The timer begins immediately you click the "Start Test" button and cannot be paused, stopped, or restarted.
- When time expires, the system automatically submits your responses. No additional time will be granted.

One attempt only
- Every student is entitled to only one attempt. Once commenced, the attempt is considered active.
- After submission - manual or automatic - you will no longer have access to the test.
- Refreshing the browser, logging out, closing the page, or switching devices after the test has begun may terminate your session.
- Under no circumstance shall a second attempt be granted.

Submission of responses
- Review your answers carefully before clicking Submit - once submitted, responses become final and cannot be modified or recalled.
- If time expires before submission, the system will automatically submit your chosen answers.

Randomization of questions
- An automated random question selection system is used to ensure fairness and integrity.
- Questions and the arrangement of answer options presented to one student will differ from another.
- Every candidate receives an equivalent assessment drawn randomly from the approved question bank - students are discouraged from comparing answers during the test.

Internet connectivity
- Candidates are solely responsible for reliable internet connectivity before beginning the test.
- Before clicking "Start Test", ensure a stable connection, sufficient battery or power source, and strong network coverage.
- Do not begin the test unless fully satisfied with your connection quality.

Recommended devices
- Desktop computer, Laptop computer (highly recommended), Tablet, or Smartphone with an updated web browser.
- Before starting: close unnecessary applications, disable automatic updates, update your browser, and keep your device connected to power where possible.
